The Texas Center for Computational
and Information Sciences (TCCIS)


The mission of the TCCIS is to foster and conduct collaborative interdisciplinary research, education and training and to provide the administrative and technical support and facilities required to achieve this objective. The TCCIS coordinates and leads interactions with external organizations and actively stimulates education and training in the areas of Computational Sciences and Engineering; Information Management, Retrieval and Analysis; and Computer and Communication System Sciences and Technologies at the University of Houston. The TCCIS organizes and conduct seminar series, workshops, symposia and conferences, and offer educational support and access to its facilities. The TCCIS plan to offer training in state-of-the-art methodologies and technologies within its areas of expertise, and plan to host short and long term visitors. Education and Training offered by the TCCIS is available to members of other educational institutions, industries, commercial and other organizational entities. Areas in which the TCCIS has significant expertise include computational chemistry and biochemistry, bioinformatics, material sciences, computational fluid mechanics and electromagnetics, data base technology, virtual environment technology and applied mathematics.
