Okay, as predicted I haven't been updating this page, but I've got some big news.
I've resigned my position at UH as of the 9th of March, and will be starting at Rice University the very next week. I'll be working with Kim Andrews, my longtime friend, fellow juggler, mentor, etc. so I'm very excited!
Also, I recently attained a SANS GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC). I've been hearing about SANS for a long while, and consider myself, as a systems admin, at least somewhat versed in security practices, so I thought I'd check out their introductory security course. I signed up, leaving off the certification attempt at first, intending to evaluate the course and decide whether to certify later. I got through two days and was so psyched from the in-depth coverage and knowledge of the instructor that I signed up for the cert out of my own pocket. (No, I'm not being paid to say this %-)
Last week, I attended the very first Houston Python Bootcamp held here at UH. In addition to getting a very worthwhile introduction to Python, I learned a few things about my MacBook, and even a few new vi/vim commands.
I just noticed that I don't have any kind of page in reference to my MacBook; I'll have to remedy that
My homepage has pretty much always consisted of one big collection of bookmarks. Just check the Wayback Machine and you'll see. So far, this format has suited my needs, but now I have other ways to keep track of my bookmarks. I think that my web space ought to serve a somewhat more useful purpose from here on out. More likely, it will just become horribly stagnant, and I'll just shift back to bookmarks. Time will tell.
